At QUEST, we don't produce answers; we produce better problem solvers.

QUEST Tutorial PhotoThe QUEST Program supports first- and some second-year courses in Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, and Psychology, as well as discipline-specific statistics courses in Business Administration and Sociology. The QUEST Center also provides assistance with MS Office, Moodle, Google Drive, graphing calculators, and other technology tools such as SPSS, R, Stata, and Maple by request. The support that QUEST is able to provide for these courses/topics is dependent on the availability of tutors.

In particular, QUEST provides support for the Salem Signature Competency in Quantitative Reasoning, so that students will possess the ability:

  • to apply quantitative data in real life situations
  • to interpret and evaluate mathematical models-formulas, graphs, tables and schemata
  • to solve problems using quantitative data and methods
  • to estimate and check solutions to problems for reasonableness.
